The mediating effect of hotel employee's performance on the relationship between technological changes and innovations

Considering several studies that demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of technological changes, innovation, and hotel employee`s performance, this study is conducted to demonstrate the mediating effect of technological changes and innovations on hotel employee`s performance in selected hotels in Davao City. A total of 510 respondents were administered with questionnaires through Facebook. The random sampling method was utilized in identifying the respondents. Data were analyzed through the frequency count, mean, and Sobel test. Research results show that technology changes are relevant to evidence that people can easily adapt changes, which clarifies why hotel employees successfully adapt to technological changes. The utilization of innovations and hotel employees' performance are significantly correlated, according to other results. As evidenced by the results, technological advancement and innovation have a significant effect on hotel employees' performance. It means that technology changes and innovation in particular Davao City hotels have an impact on hotel employees' performance in terms of workload, stress at work, and motivation. Moreover, this means that through this information, it will help hospitality industry of Davao City to improve hotel employees training and have enough time to research the technological changes and innovations that hotels will suggest. Future tourism and hospitality scholars can also utilize this study as a guide for their undergraduate research on technological changes, innovations, and hotel employee`s performance. Finally, the study's conclusions and interpretation made a substantial contribution by providing new, practical solutions for usage by tourist and hospitality companies.
